夏の終わり・・・at the end of summer

At the end of summer, as this time of year comes around every year, a slightly dry northern wind begins to blow on Ishigaki Island, and I, who have lived on this island for a long time, can’t help but feel the approach of autumn and the onset of colder winter.

After safely completing the peak tourist season of summer, I breathe a sigh of relief and, at the same time, begin to reflect on various matters and start preparations and tasks for the upcoming season.

It’s a slow process, but little by little, I’m working towards my ideal self and lifestyle goals, making adjustments and corrections as needed. ^ ^

「Life is like a road trip. Enjoy each day, and don’t carry too much baggage…」

The title of this blog is about my 72-year-old mother who, last month, suddenly decided to climb to the summit of Mount Fuji. She gathered her gear in about a month and successfully reached the summit recently.

It’s also because on that same day, the renowned adventurer Yuichiro Miura, who is still active at the age of 90, had started his ascent just a few minutes before my mother. This blog, while sharing information about Ishigaki Island, emphasizes the importance of “enjoying life at any age” and the attitude of “keeping both possessions and feelings light to enjoy life.” I post this here as a sign of respect for these principles.

The blooming “flowers” praise the seasons, The perched “birds” speak few words, Existing in accordance with the blowing “wind,” The “moon” fills the endless sky.

Now or never

Golden Week (Period of consecutive national holidays in May.)has safely come to an end, and the Covid19has finally reached Level Five here in Japan,it is bringing me a sense of relief.

I am delighted to see many foreign tourists returning to Ishigaki Island. At the same time, I have been reflecting on the various memories and hardships of the past three years.

While expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work in a job I love, I am eagerly looking forward to the Okinawa tourism during the high season. I can’t wait to assist new customers and contribute to creating unforgettable memories on Ishigaki Island once again.
